The Dean of FMIPA UI, Prof. Dede Djuhana, Ph.D., in his opening remarks, emphasized that this event is important to reinforce the understanding of all work units regarding the principles of quality management, especially in responding to organizational dynamics and the need for service improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOver the past four years, there have been many changes, both in organizational structure and service standards. ISO is not merely about procedures, but also about encouraging us to maintain what is already good and improve areas that are not yet optimal. Collaboration between units is the key,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prof. Dede emphasized the importance of FMIPA UI aligning with university policies, in light of the changes in organizational structure and unit naming at UI following the appointment of the new rector. These changes have impacted coordination, task distribution, and reporting systems, all of which need to be adjusted to fit the new structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe need to be more in line with the programs at the rectorate. This is both a challenge and an opportunity for continuous improvement,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n A similar view was expressed by the Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration of FMIPA UI, Prof. Dr. Tito Latif Indra, S.Si., M.Si. He stated that the ISO 9001:2015 standard implemented at FMIPA UI is not merely a formality, but a tangible manifestation of the faculty\u2019s commitment to providing high-quality, efficient services that are oriented toward the needs of stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThis refreshment activity is important to align our understanding and update our knowledge of the latest version of ISO. Beyond that, it is also part of our efforts to strengthen the quality culture in our work environment,\u201d explained Prof. Tito.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The refreshment activity consisted of two sessions: a session on the principles of quality management and a training and simulation session on internal quality audits. Its main objective was to equip participants with practical understanding of how to plan, conduct, and follow up on internal audits effectively and in accordance with the standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Dr. Ir. Muhammad Habiburrahman, M.T., an ISO 9001 and ISO 21001 practitioner in educational organizations, was present as a guest speaker. In his presentation, he explained various crucial aspects of ISO 9001:2015, ranging from the clause structure and the PDCA cycle to the risk-based approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He emphasized that the purpose of an audit is not to find faults, but to ensure that procedures are carried out in accordance with the quality management system and to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe opportunities referred to are opportunities to improve service quality \u2014 not merely corrections, but transformations toward better governance,\u201d said the researcher and lecturer from the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The ISO 9001:2015 recertification is considered highly important for FMIPA UI in maintaining the trust of the academic community, partners, and the broader public.
