In his remarks, the Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, Prof. Anom Bowolaksono, Ph.D., emphasized FMIPA UI\u2019s commitment to providing a comprehensive mentoring system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are committed to ensuring that every student, especially those from affirmation pathways and 3T regions, receives adequate support so they can adapt to the academic environment and complete their studies within the targeted timeframe,\u201d said Prof. Anom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The activity was also attended by Dr. Yulia Mariana Tesa Ayudia Putri, S.Si., M.Si., Assistant Manager for Student Achievement Development and Student Ecosystem, as well as Mochamad Ramlih, Assistant Manager for Student Welfare Services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In its implementation, students first took part in a discussion session with the faculty to share their experiences and challenges during their studies. Several issues were raised, including adapting to the academic pace, time management, adjustment to university learning methods, as well as the need for support in building self-confidence and learning motivation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This session served as an open dialogue between students and the faculty to better identify and map mentoring needs in a more targeted way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Next, participants attended a mentoring session with a counselor from BKM FMIPA UI featuring a material titled \u201cSelf-Leadership: Road to Success.\u201d In her presentation, Nina Marliyani, M.Si., emphasized the importance of self-management skills as a foundation for academic success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cSelf-leadership is the ability to recognize one\u2019s potential while also managing emotions, time, and goals consistently. This is the key for students to be able to face academic pressure in a more adaptive way,\u201d said Nina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n She also added that students need to develop self-awareness and internal motivation as the main driving forces in the learning process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cOften, the biggest challenges do not come from outside, but from how we see ourselves. With strong self-awareness, students can build confidence and set a clearer direction for their learning,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The discussion covered an understanding of academic stress, the concept of self-leadership, strengthening self-awareness, self-management, and self-motivation, as well as strategies for setting goals and building a positive mindset. In addition, students were also invited to discuss various obstacles in applying self-leadership, such as lack of discipline and environmental pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n This activity is an initial stage of preventive mentoring aimed at strengthening students\u2019 learning motivation.
