Selain memetakan kondisi ekologi makroalga di Lombok Timur, riset tersebut juga mengidentifikasi senyawa bioaktif yang berpotensi menghambat pertumbuhan sel kanker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Temuan itu dipaparkan Abdullah Rasyid dalam sidang promosi doktor Program Studi Biologi, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA), Universitas Indonesia (UI), di Aula Prof. G.A. Siwabessy FMIPA UI, Depok, Jumat (3\/7\/2026). Abdullah meraih gelar doktor dengan predikat cum laude setelah menyelesaikan studi selama enam semester dengan indeks prestasi kumulatif (IPK) 3,88.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Disertasi berjudul Studi Ekologi dan Korelasi Profil Metabolit Sekunder Makroalga Hijau dan Cokelat Asal Perairan Nusa Tenggara Barat Terhadap Aktivitas Sitotoksik Selektifnya pada Sel Kanker (MCF-7 dan HT-29) itu dipromotori Dr. rer. nat. Yasman, M.Sc. dari Departemen Biologi FMIPA UI, dengan ko-promotor Prof. Dr. Masteria Yunovilsa Putra dari Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional (BRIN) serta Dr. Windri Handayani, M.Si. dari Departemen Biologi FMIPA UI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Penelitian tersebut menggabungkan kajian ekologi dan bioprospeksi makroalga untuk melihat hubungan antara kondisi lingkungan pesisir dengan kandungan senyawa bioaktif yang dimiliki organisme tersebut. Penelitian dilakukan di tiga lokasi di Lombok Timur, yakni Pantai Dasan Ujung, Pantai Telong Elong, dan Pantai Pink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/sci-769.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15229\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/sci-769.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/sci-769-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/sci-769-18x12.jpg 18w, https:\/\/sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/sci-769-600x400.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 15 spesies makroalga di lokasi penelitian. Pantai Dasan Ujung memiliki tingkat keanekaragaman tertinggi, sedangkan Pantai Pink terendah akibat dominasi&nbsp;<em>Ulva lactuca<\/em>&nbsp;yang dipengaruhi kondisi eutrofikasi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dari sisi kandungan senyawa bioaktif,&nbsp;<em>Halimeda opuntia<\/em>&nbsp;memiliki kandungan senyawa fenolik tertinggi, sementara&nbsp;<em>Dictyota dichotoma<\/em>&nbsp;memiliki kandungan flavonoid tertinggi. Pada pengujian aktivitas antikanker, ekstrak&nbsp;<em>Ulva reticulata<\/em>&nbsp;paling efektif menghambat sel kanker payudara MCF-7, sedangkan fraksi petroleum eter dan etil asetat dari&nbsp;<em>Dictyota dichotoma<\/em>&nbsp;menunjukkan aktivitas paling kuat terhadap sel kanker usus besar HT-29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPotensi antikanker dari makroalga cokelat ini sangat menjanjikan. Namun, penelitian lanjutan masih diperlukan untuk mengisolasi senyawa aktifnya agar lebih selektif terhadap sel kanker,\u201d ujar Abdullah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Analisis menggunakan kromatografi gas-spektrometri massa (GC-MS) juga mengidentifikasi sejumlah senyawa bioaktif utama pada&nbsp;<em>Dictyota dichotoma<\/em>&nbsp;yang diduga berperan dalam aktivitas antikanker tersebut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/sci-770.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15230\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/sci-770.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/sci-770-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/sci-770-18x12.jpg 18w, https:\/\/sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/sci-770-600x400.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Abdullah mengatakan, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pelestarian ekosistem pesisir tidak hanya penting untuk menjaga keanekaragaman hayati, tetapi juga mendukung pemanfaatan sumber daya laut bagi pengembangan obat berbasis bahan alam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKeanekaragaman hayati laut Indonesia menyimpan potensi besar untuk inovasi di bidang kesehatan. Karena itu, upaya konservasi dan riset perlu terus berjalan beriringan,\u201d kata Abdullah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Makroalga diketahui menghasilkan metabolit sekunder sebagai mekanisme pertahanan terhadap tekanan lingkungan dan predator. Berbagai penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan senyawa tersebut memiliki aktivitas biologis, termasuk sebagai antioksidan, imunomodulator, dan antikanker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meski Nusa Tenggara Barat memiliki keanekaragaman makroalga yang tinggi, kajian mengenai potensi antikanker selama ini masih didominasi oleh makroalga merah. Penelitian Abdullah memperluas eksplorasi terhadap kelompok makroalga hijau dan cokelat yang selama ini relatif belum banyak diteliti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sidang promosi doktor tersebut dipimpin Dekan FMIPA UI, Prof. Dr. Tito Latif Indra, M.Si., sebagai ketua sidang.
