{"id":1680,"date":"2021-08-06T03:41:00","date_gmt":"2021-08-06T03:41:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sci.ui.ac.id\/?p=1680"},"modified":"2024-08-12T03:43:14","modified_gmt":"2024-08-12T03:43:14","slug":"gagas-inovasi-3d-printing-untuk-pertanian-di-indonesia-tim-mahasiswa-fmipa-ui-ukir-prestasi-pada-ajang-international-paper-competition-foa-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sci-ui.id\/en\/gagas-inovasi-3d-printing-untuk-pertanian-di-indonesia-tim-mahasiswa-fmipa-ui-ukir-prestasi-pada-ajang-international-paper-competition-foa-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"Initiating 3D Printing Innovation for Agriculture in Indonesia, FMIPA UI Student Team Wins Achievement at the 2021 FOA International Paper Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The UI Geophysics student team from the 2020 intake, consisting of Yudha Adi Putra, Axcell Alfino Imanuel Weken, and Adhenisa Ratna Augustin (Geophysics 2020) succeeded in becoming finalists in the competition category&nbsp;<em>paper&nbsp;<\/em>di ajang&nbsp;<em>Festival Of Agroindustry&nbsp;<\/em>organized by the Industrial Technology Student Association of Bogor Agricultural University and in collaboration with Villanova University. The event was enlivened by two types of international scale competitions, namely&nbsp;<em>paper<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>idea pitching.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For competition&nbsp;<em>paper,&nbsp;<\/em>In the initial stage, participants are asked to submit an abstract first. The abstract is then selected by the committee to determine which team will proceed to the submission stage.&nbsp;<em>full paper<\/em>. At the collection stage&nbsp;<em>full paper<\/em>, participants were then re-selected to determine the 10 best teams that qualified for the final stage, namely the presentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The research idea they offered at the competition was entitled&nbsp;<em>\u201cSmart Farming Technology using 3D Printing as a solution to the Challenge of Realizing Food Security during the transition period of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia\u201d<\/em>. The three of them said that the idea was inspired by one of Indonesia's agricultural problems, namely the availability of agricultural raw materials in the regions that are not evenly distributed. In addition, they also want to develop innovations in the use of 3D printing in Indonesia which are applied to the agricultural sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The innovation they brought to the competition was the use of smart farming using 3D printing technology. The way the technology works begins with collecting raw material samples, homogeneous mixing, centrifugation (separating grains from water), heating, cooling, and applying 3D printing technology. With this technology, agricultural products can be more hygienic, less human resources, and more environmentally friendly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"The idea we presented can be said to be unique compared to other participants, because generally other participants have ideas about a development in agriculture that has existed before and been modified. Meanwhile, our own 3D Printing is still rarely applied, especially in the agricultural sector,\" explained Axcell as one of the team members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In completing his research, Yudha, as the team leader, said that his team was able to work well together. In addition, they were also assisted by one of the supervising lecturers, especially for consultation during the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adhenisa also revealed that his team often faced challenges, especially in managing time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"I think the biggest challenge was when the three of us had to manage time to discuss the competition between academic and non-academic activities. Although we come from the same study program, we have different activities. In addition, we also need research and quite a long time during the work period,\" said Adhenisa, revealing the challenges behind his success story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the three of them agreed that they had gained many benefits from their competition experience, such as honing their skills.&nbsp;<em>critical thinking<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>teamwork<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"Which&nbsp;<em>No&nbsp;<\/em>less importantly, we can also get&nbsp;<em>insight<\/em>&nbsp;just from another team during the race,\u201d said Adhenisa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Closing the interview session, Yudha, Adhenisa, and Axcell advised other FMIPA students to dare to take advantage of existing opportunities and not be afraid of failure because they believe that in every process there will always be something positive that can be obtained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>International Paper Competition<\/em>&nbsp;is a competition that produces innovative scientific work to increase awareness of agricultural commodities as a solution to the post-pandemic crisis, where this activity is part of a series of activities&nbsp;<em>Festival of Agroindustry<\/em>&nbsp;(FOA).
