Twenty students from the University of Indonesia (UI) are ready to take part in the regional selection for the 2024 National Mathematics and Natural Sciences Olympiad – Higher Education (ONMIPA-PT), online and simultaneously on April 23-26, 2024. The selection results have been announced by the UI-level ONMIPA-PT 2024 Selection Committee on Tuesday (3/5/2024).
This regional level selection is a continuation of the UI level selection that was held online on Saturday (24/2/2024), attended by 79 participants from across faculties. From the results of the UI level selection, the five best students were selected in each field, namely Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
Furthermore, the selected participants will proceed to the next stage, namely the regional/area level selection, which will be held online on April 23-26, 2024. At this stage, participants will be grouped into 16 (sixteen) regions of the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI), where UI is included in region III, namely DKI Jakarta.
As preparation for UI participants in facing the regional stage selection, FMIPA UI will provide support in the form of intensive guidance by internal lecturers who are also experts in the fields of study being competed. This guidance will start from March 18 to May 11, 2024.
"As in previous years, we continue to provide guidance to participants to strengthen their preparation, so that they can also be more confident in facing the questions. We also thank the lecturers who have been willing to provide special guidance for the UI contingent," said Dr. Dewi Susiloningtyas, M.Si., as the Chairperson of the ONMIPA-PT 2024 UI Level, as well as the Student Affairs Manager of FMIPA UI.
Furthermore, he advised UI participants to put in their best efforts and be thorough in answering the questions. He hopes that this year's participants will be able to present more medals for UI, and bring UI to the overall champion title of ONMIPA-PT 2024.
"Put in maximum effort, and answer the questions carefully, so that we can make improvements in achievements from previous years. We give our best for UI, hopefully UI can win the overall champion title," he added.
The announcement of the results of the regional selection stage will be released on April 3, 2024 via the National Achievement Center Website of the Indonesian Talent Development Center.
