Masters Program

  • General Requirements
    1. Register online through https://penerimaan.ui.ac.id
    2. Upload a legalized copy of the diploma and a legalized copy of the academic transcript. Applicants who graduated from overseas institution must upload a certificate of equivalency from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Republic of Indonesia.
    3. Take the SIMAK UI examination.

  • Study Program Requirements
    1. Pass the SIMAK UI selection with a minimum score of 500 in the Academic Potential Test (TPA) and a minimum score of 500 in English
    2. Have a minimum GPA of 3.00 from the previous education level
    3. Requirements for Regular (Coursework) Path: prospective students who are considered to require academic equivalency are required to attend matriculation
    4. Requirements for Research Path:
      • a). Have research experience proven by being one of the authors of scientific articles published nationally/internationally
      • b). Pass the research plan interview, which is conducted after the SIMAK exam
      • c). Applicants who do not meet requirements a and b will be advised to enroll in the coursework path.
Study Program Requirements
Master Program in Mathematics Bachelor’s degree graduates from fields relevant to Mathematics, obtained from domestic or international universities that meet the requirements set by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek).
Master Program in Physics Science Bachelor’s degree graduates in Physics, Geophysics, Geothermal Studies, Geology, Petroleum Studies, Instrumentation, Nuclear Physics, Engineering Physics, Meteorology, Earth Sciences, or other fields relevant to Physics, obtained from domestic or international universities that meet the requirements set by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek).
Master Program in Materials Science Bachelor’s degree graduates from Engineering and Science faculties relevant to Materials Science, obtained from domestic or international universities that meet the requirements set by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek).
Master Program in Medical Physics Bachelor’s degree graduates in Physics or Engineering obtained from domestic or international universities that meet Kemendikbud requirements. However, those who wish to become practicing medical physicists in healthcare facilities must have an academic background in Physics or Nuclear Engineering, in accordance with the regulations set by the Indonesian Medical Physicist Alliance (AFISMI, www.afismi.org)
Students accepted through the Coursework path who graduated from institutions outside of UI are required to participate in a 1-month bridging program (around August) before the start of the semester.
Master Program in Chemistry Bachelor’s degree graduates from fields relevant to Chemistry, obtained from domestic or international universities that meet the requirements set by Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek).
Master Program in Biology Bachelor’s degree graduates in Biology, Agriculture, Fisheries, Animal Science, Biotechnology, Forestry, or other fields relevant to Biology, obtained from domestic or international universities that meet the requirements set by Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek).
Master Program in Marine Science Bachelor’s degree graduates from fields relevant to Physical Marine Science, Biological Marine Science, Resource Management, and Fisheries, obtained from domestic or international universities that meet the requirements set by Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek).
Applied Bachelor’s degree (D4) graduates from disciplines relevant to Physical Marine Science, Biological Marine Science, and Resource Management and Fisheries.
Master Program in Geography Bachelor’s degree graduates from fields relevant to Geography, obtained from domestic or international universities that meet the requirements set by Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek).

Doctoral Program

  • General Requirements
    1. Register online through https://penerimaan.ui.ac.id
    2. Upload a legalized copy of the diploma and a legalized copy of the academic transcript. Applicants who graduated from overseas institution must upload a certificate of equivalency from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Republic of Indonesia.
    3. Upload a recommendation letter
    4. Take the SIMAK UI examination.

    2. English
    3. Interview (depending on study program requirements)
  • Study Program Requirements
    1. Pass the SIMAK UI selection with a minimum score of 550 in the Academic Potential Test (TPA) and a minimum score of 500 in English
    2. Have a minimum GPA of 3.00 from the previous education level
    3. Requirements for Research Path:
      • a). Have research experience proven by being one of the authors of at least two (2) scientific articles published nationally or internationally, with at least one of them as the first author.
      • c). Have a prospective promoter
      • c). Already have a potential promoter
      • d). Those who do not meet the requirements in points a - c are required to attend a matriculation program
Study Program Requirements
Doctoral Program in Physics Graduates of a Master’s program in fields relevant to Physics, obtained from domestic or international universities that meet the requirements set by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek).
Doctoral Program in Material Science Graduates of a Master’s program in Engineering or Natural Sciences (MIPA) relevant to Materials Science, obtained from domestic or international universities that meet the requirements and equivalency standards set by Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek).
Doctoral Program in Chemistry Graduates of a Master’s program or equivalent in Chemistry, Pharmacy, or Chemical Engineering, with a background relevant to Chemistry, obtained from domestic or international universities that meet the requirements and equivalency standards set by Ministry of Education, Science and Technology
Doctoral Program in Biology Graduates of a Master’s program in Biology, Forestry, Agriculture, Animal Science, Fisheries, Veterinary Medicine, or Biology Education, with a background relevant to Biology, obtained from domestic or international

      6. Indonesia language proficiency test (TIBA) certificate with a minimum score of 4, or Indonesian language course (BIPA) certificate with a minimum level of 3. TIBA/BIPA certificates are mandatory documents, except for those from university with classes conducted entirely in Indonesian
