Commitment to Educational Quality: Doctoral Programs in Chemistry and Physics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia, Achieve Excellent Accreditation.

Depok, March 11, 2026 – The Doctoral (Ph.D.) Program in Chemistry and the Doctoral (Ph.D.) Program in Physics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (UI), have officially received the Excellent Accreditation (Akreditasi Unggul) rating from the Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Sains Alam dan Ilmu Formal (LAMSAMA). This accreditation status is valid for both study programs from February 26, 2026, to February 25, 2031.

Previously, the Doctoral Program in Chemistry had received Excellent Accreditation from April 14, 2021, to November 21, 2025, while the Doctoral Program in Physics held a Good Accreditation status from March 16, 2021, to March 16, 2026. With this latest accreditation, both study programs now hold the highest ranking within Indonesia’s higher education accreditation system.

The Excellent Accreditation (Akreditasi Unggul) status represents the highest ranking in Indonesia’s higher education accreditation system. The assessment is conducted comprehensively by Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Sains Alam dan Ilmu Formal (LAMSAMA), taking into account various aspects, including curriculum quality, faculty competence, research productivity, supporting facilities, and the academic outcomes produced by the study programs.

The Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia, Prof. Tito Latif Indra, M.Si., stated that this achievement marks an important milestone for FMIPA UI in strengthening the quality of education, research, and academic contributions in the field of basic sciences, both at the national and international levels.

“The attainment of Excellent Accreditation marks an important milestone for FMIPA UI in strengthening education, research, and contributions in the field of basic sciences, particularly chemistry and physics,” said Prof. Tito Latif Indra.

With the achievement of this Excellent Accreditation, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia, is expected to further encourage prospective students to pursue doctoral studies, particularly those aspiring to become researchers and academics. This accomplishment also strengthens FMIPA UI’s efforts to develop high-quality research and contribute significantly to the advancement of science and technology.

“We hope this achievement will increase the interest of prospective students in pursuing doctoral studies at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia, and encourage the emergence of researchers and academics who produce high-quality research and contribute to the advancement of science and technology,” he added.

Going forward, the Doctoral Programs in Chemistry and Physics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia, are committed to continuously improving the quality of education and research, expanding international collaborations, and producing graduates who are capable of providing scientific solutions to various global challenges.
