International Student Mobility (ISM)

Jakarta, October 10, 2023 – Students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA-UI) have participated in the 2023 Indonesian Student Mobility (ISM) program. The event took place in Taiwan from 1-7 October 2023 with the aim of providing students with valuable experience in terms of international exposure and deepening their understanding of education and culture in Taiwan.

This year's ISM was attended by eleven students from six departments (Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Geoscience, Chemistry, and Geography) at FMIPA-UI. The 11 delegates were selected through a strict selection based on interviews and file selection. They participated in the 2023 ISM activities together with a mentoring team consisting of Prof. Dr. rer. nat. (Vice Dean I of FMIPA-UI), Dr. Dewi Susiloningtyas, M.Sc. (Student Affairs Manager of FMIPA-UI), Twin Hosea W. Kristyanto. M.T. (Assistant Lecturer), and Bintang Mahakarya Semahen, S.Sc. (Student Affairs Division of FMIPA-UI).

This year's ISM program is designed to provide FMIPA-UI students with broad insights into college life in Taiwan, university entrance procedures in Taiwan, scholarship availability, Taiwanese culture, as well as the challenges and tips for studying and living in Taiwan.

October 2, 2023
1	Visit to Yuan Ze University	Students attended a general lecture, were introduced to the campus environment at YZU, and visited laboratories.
2	Community Service: Earthquake Disaster Mitigation	Students conducted community service by providing disaster mitigation education to the Indonesian Student Association (PPI) Taiwan and PPI YZU using the CREDO-E method (Creative Hazard Education - Earthquake series, an innovation by Twin Hosea).
October 3, 2023
1	Visit to National Taiwan University	Students visited the Department of Physics and the College of Life Sciences at NTU, as well as explored collections at the NTU Zoology Museum and NTU History Museum.
2	Community Service for the Indonesian Student Association in Taiwan (Perpita)	Students provided a community service session to Perpita on financial literacy, involving a role-playing game about insurance investment.

1	Visit to Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall	Students visited Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall to understand Taiwan's history and culture.
2	Visit to National Palace Museum	Students visited the National Palace Museum to learn more about Taiwan's history and culture.

1	Visit to the Indonesian Economic and Trade Office in Taiwan	Students visited KDEI for networking and to understand the duties and functions of Indonesia's government representation in Taiwan.

1	Visit to Yehliu Geopark	On the final day, students explored the geological richness of northern Taiwan, including Yehliu Geopark, Jiufen, and Shifen, known for their unique geological formations.
