Depok, September 28, 2026 — The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI), is strengthening the development of its Fast-Track Program through the Finalization Meeting for the 2026 FMIPA UI Fast-Track Program Academic Manuscript. The meeting marked an important step in strengthening the academic and institutional foundation of a program that has been implemented at FMIPA UI since 2021.
The finalization meeting was held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the Pertamina Multidisciplinary Research Laboratory Building, FMIPA UI, Depok. The meeting brought together faculty leaders, department heads, heads of study programs, and the drafting team representing various departments within FMIPA UI.
Dean of FMIPA UI, Prof. Dr. Tito Latif Indra, S.Si., M.Si., emphasized that the preparation of the Academic Manuscript is necessary to ensure that the Fast-Track Program has a clear foundation and can be implemented while taking into account the characteristics and needs of each field of study.
“The preparation of this Academic Manuscript is important to ensure that the program has a clear and well-directed foundation and can be implemented optimally,” said Prof. Tito.

The Fast-Track Program is an integrated education pathway that provides eligible students with the opportunity to continue to the next level of education in a more structured and efficient manner while still meeting the applicable academic requirements.
FMIPA UI Education Manager, Dr. Fevi Novkaniza, S.Si., M.Si., explained that the Fast-Track Program at FMIPA UI has been implemented since 2021. To date, its implementation has followed mechanisms established by individual study programs and the faculty.
“The Fast-Track Program at FMIPA UI was first implemented in 2021. Although the program has been running, its implementation has so far been based on mechanisms established by the study programs and the faculty. The preparation of the Academic Manuscript in 2026 is an effort to formalize and organize a program that has already been in place,” said Dr. Fevi.
Furthermore, Dr. Fevi explained that the Academic Manuscript is expected to serve as a common reference for the implementation of the Fast-Track Program across FMIPA UI. One of the main focuses of its preparation is to align regulations and mechanisms across departments and study programs.
“Alignment across study programs is essential to ensure that the Fast-Track Program is implemented in a well-directed manner and in accordance with applicable regulations,” said Dr. Fevi.
The Fast-Track Program at FMIPA UI consists of two pathways: Fast-Track S1–S2 and Fast-Track S2–S3. Under the S1–S2 pathway, eligible undergraduate students may begin taking courses at the master’s level before completing all requirements of their undergraduate education. This pathway enables continuity from undergraduate to master’s education through a more integrated academic track.

Meanwhile, the S2–S3 pathway provides master’s students with the opportunity to prepare for and develop doctoral-level research in a more integrated manner before completing all stages of their master’s education, in accordance with applicable academic regulations.
This educational integration is not solely intended to shorten the duration of study. The Fast-Track Program also provides students with opportunities to gain early academic and research experience at the next level of education, while developing their research capabilities and capacity for scientific publication.
The development of the Fast-Track Program is part of FMIPA UI’s efforts to establish continuity between education and research from the undergraduate to doctoral levels. Through an integrated educational pathway, students are expected to gain more continuous academic and research experiences aligned with their respective fields of study.
The finalization of the 2026 FMIPA UI Fast-Track Program Academic Manuscript marks an important step in ensuring that the program, which has been implemented since 2021, has an increasingly clear academic and institutional framework. With a more systematic reference, the program is expected to be implemented more effectively, aligned across study programs, and remain adaptable to the characteristics of each field of study.
Moving forward, the FMIPA UI Fast-Track Program will continue to support the continuity of students’ education and research from the undergraduate to doctoral levels, while strengthening FMIPA UI’s contribution to developing human resources with strong academic competencies and research capabilities in the sciences.
